Well if he has a big part and not a main cast member, that could mean he'll be someone that ends up dieing that's crucial to the overall plot. Kind of like the random guy joining a star trek away team.
And a trilogy? This could be a dragonball only trilogy? This would mean movie 4 would start in on the Dragonball Z saga's. Wow, this may take awhile, although on the upside, the characters will be well developed by then, something that would be needed in this kind of thing since we won't have hours of tv shows to build upon. We'd still have to go through the process of introducing Kami, Krillin, Tien, and maybe the red ribbon army as well, because of the whole back history of the android saga is based upon this. I'm more a fan of DBZ than DB so it'll be interesting to see what the hell these people have planned.

People tend to forget that the manga...all 40+ volumes compose a series called DRAGONBALL. Saiyan Saga...DragonBall...Frieza Saga...DragonBall....Cell Saga....uh DragonBall? -_-' Dragon Ball Z is just the name of the anime from the point where we see Son Gohan (Son Goku's son) for the first time. The whole manga is DRAGONBALL in japan. -.-
My prediction as to the trilogy.
1st Movie: Piccoro Saga
2nd Movie: Saiyan Saga
3rd Movie: Frieza Saga
Just like Toriyama originally intended to end it at,the Frieza Saga. But then fans wanted him to keep on streching the story.

I say lets give it a chance. Also when you adapt a story into a movie you can't expect it to be identical to the original. Changes have to be made so it can appeal to a wider audience and remember that movies are usually around 2 hours long,they have to cramp in dozens of episodes/chapter into two or so hours. Again lets give it a chance. Im not to fond of many of the ideas they're using for the film but you never know. And the casting isn't really bad. James Marsters as Piccoro was a good idea the way I see it.
I wonder if and how they are going introduce krillin, tien , and chiaotzu in the next installment.
I mean they could be portrayed as former students of roshi who come to visit his new student or maybe... just maybe they might appear as surpise characters that are introduced during the tournament in the movie.

You've kind of run in to the danger-zone of obsession. Let me ask you, why is it that it is so detrimental to your survival that this movie not get made. You do realize this won't take away the original anime or manga. If movie sucks, at it probably will, we all still have the anime to go back to. It's no big deal.
And FOX, I'm sorry to say, is not going to reply to yours, or anyones email, concerning stopping the production or changing aspects of this movie. A multi-billion dollar company can do what they want. Listening to a lot of geeks on the internet is not one of their first priorities.
I love DBZ too, but even I know it's not perfect in any way. It's a fun show and its legacy will still continue even after this movie. It's really time to stop acting so ridiculous.

Krillin wasn't Goku's best friend until late into DB so Krillin ins't cut out yet I don't think. Niether is Tien they just haven't cast the roles or they're keeping them in for a while. you're right, it's doesn't say anywhere that kirllin won't be in it. ut they haven't mentioned him, he probably won't. let's just face they shitty music. the director sucks, they writer sucks, this movie has the potential to really suck. and what is more disheartening is that it will portray DB in a very poor light and may cause the whole live action DB thing to lose ground. when the heart of DB is action and silly comedy. they would have better to have gotten the same writers from "Sean of the Dead" and "Hot Fuzz" then they guy who wrote some crapy action self pleasing action movies. and yes, writing in Teto is not a smooth move, mi hijo. it breaks the fantasy for the fans, who will be the a larger part of the audience when the movie opens. it is just a movie, in the big scheme of things, not important. but it still sucks that the enjoyment gathered from the series by fans probably won't be realized in this first effort at a DB live action movie.
I'm not going to jump to the conclusion that they are not going to include Krillin at all. Although it does remind me of the extreme dissapointment I experienced when the director's of X-Men decided to leave Gambit out of all 3 movies.(no word on weather he'll be in the 4th or 5th film)
I really hope that the reason Krillin isnt listed because they havent found someone to play him yet. I would be sorely dissapointed if they did not have Krillin in the first movie(even if they included him in the next two).
The only time Krillin wasnt around was during the first dozen episodes of DragonBall. To not include him in this movie when they have Piccollo in the movie would be crazy as he is supposed to serve as Goku's initial competition when he trains under Roshi.

There could've been a better selection of actors...Of course, James Marsters definitely has that whole bad ass thing going on. Example: I think Sarah Silverman would've been a great Chi-Chi. She has that vivacious spirit to her that could light up a screen. Anyways...Don't get me wrong, not all actors lack in appearance...Emma Rossum, Jamie Chung, Luis Arrieta....All the acrimony seems to be circling around Krillins' appearance in the movie. Maybe or maybe not...ya just might have to watch. For all of those who think the whole movie sounds like a piece of shit and for all those who are dying to watch it.
